Make Way for Cookies

So Jess has managed nothing today except for a nap and a few encouraging words to Daron as he did the taxes.  But as soon as the idea of cookies enters her mind, up she comes.  This happening all the while she is cutting back on my food "for the sake of my health".  What came out of the refrigerator to make way for trays of these cookies you ask?  Celery.  You are an inspiration.

As far as my weight loss journey, I thought I'd do some documenting on here.  I currently weigh in at 18 lbs. which some think is a little heavy but I like to think of as well insulated.  I'm off my grazing and down to twice a day feedings.  I really wish "My Fitness Pal" would diversify.  I can't find my brand of kibbles anywhere in their database.

I know these look like the result of a hairball and Jess is no chef to mimic, but just in case you have had a nap, watched someone do taxes, and are looking for the next item on your to do list, here is the recipe.
(Thanks to Allison Carchi)

Haystacks
  • 1/4 cup shorting (off to a good start already!)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 package of butterscotch chips
  • 6 cups of Cornflakes
  • 2/3 cup of miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Melt shortening, peanut butter, and butterscotch chips in a large saucepan on low heat.
  2. Stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Pour mixture onto cornflakes and mix until coated.
  4. Add chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon out onto wax paper and refrigerate until firm.

  1. I thought you were kidding when you said cornflakes. Laughed out loud at the My Fitness Pal reference.
