I think this lovely booger added "up" to his vocabulary. (Putting us at a grand total of 3.5 words with  "mmm" for a cow sound only racking up 1/2 a point.) What do you think?  It may be a "humph" which is no news at all.

In other news, he has also added waving, hugging, and holding the phone to his ear while repeatedly saying "yeah" to his bag of tricks. Then there is this adorable fake laugh he does. If you saw it in a photo you would swear he was bawling. He is cruising around really well, but no wobbly first steps yet.

Ball Pit Pirate

We are officially backyard kid-toy people!  Found this at a garage sale today.  I had to scrub it  down and remake the awning due to grossness and holes.  I foresee having to do this every year.  I will probably embrace the grossness and holes next summer when the project comes around. Who are we kidding, it will sit dilapidated and untouched all next summer.

After that purchase we had the brilliant idea to take our son to a big park in order that he will forever be disappointed with his two foot slide and ball cage.

Also, he now blows kisses.  These are for you.

We're Paying with Love Tonight

Cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-a.  I love this place.
Everybody look to the left. (Even the straw.)

I would also like to say that Silas can moo one out of five times asked.  Also, he did it for the first time in the presence of real cows.

Meanwhile Back at the Ranch

Just spent the week with the best people that I know!  They are funny, sweet, and their genes are beyond compare!  Here is what we did all week...

Sunday I got back from the CoMo festivities to a warm welcome.  We took a family hay ride and had the equivalent of Thanksgiving Dinner 2.0.

Monday we hung out with Grandma Cain and her crew at the pool.

Tuesday we rode horses, played croquet, caught lightening bugs, and had a rousing game of family kickball.

Hanging out in my mother's lovely perennial garden.
Standing for 5+ seconds!
Backyard camp out.

Wednesday we went to the lake and to The Pizza Cellar for dinner.

Thursday the movie studio fired up and the kids filmed this gem.  (Stay tuned for the full feature.) We also played in the garden and shot off some fireworks.  Eating fresh food from the garden really is a thrill.  Silas also slept through his birthday party.

Friday we went back to the lake for a day with Doll-Doll and fam and drove the boat out to see the fireworks over the water.  Happy Fourth of July!
