November

Silas is into learning about rocks at school. He bought a geode kit that was pretty fun. I am loving this phase of holding being good at school over his head in order for him to buy things he wants. All we do is drive him to the store and he is happy to spend his own money!

This face painting kit might be the best purchase of my life.

Silas and I had a date volunteering at Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Pretzels with the Privetts!

Silas went to his first birthday party solo. Hoping he used at least a tenth of the manners he was drilled on.

Thanksgiving!

Ended the evening with a sing-a-long and just like that it is Christmas time!

October

We started with a "Touch a Truck" event which  I had heard of, but apparently underestimated. Silas got more candy than most Halloweens and operated both a garbage truck and excavator. His favorite part was snooping on the semi truck driver's stash of Gatorade.

We went camping at Crooked River State Park with the Privetts. Super fun.

We made our best pumpkin carving yet- a ninja. We phoned in costumes and had a cowboy (thrown together minutes before going out the door) and a store bought Spiderman. The trick-or-treat crew grew. We did have to make a dash home in the rain but I actually liked seeing costumed children fleeing and capes flapping in the wind. I wonder what would have to happen for me to not like Halloween.
