We made it to a Jellystone Park campground with the Venturas! I have been wanting to do that for awhile. The facilities were pristine and there was putt-putt, an ice cream shop, pools, fishing, an air jump pad, dog parks, bike tracks, play grounds... We enjoyed a poolside trivia game where wrong answers got you pushed in. It was basically trading nature for ritz and amenities, but it was a good time. One part of nature that remained very present were mosquitos. I think I had more bites than ever before in my life.
Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Steve visited. I once again got out my glasses cleaning machine to wow the guests. My house is a real thrill.
I am way too proud of how my crawlspace door project turned out. The old one was rotting. The deck staining on the other hand was less satisfying and much more work. We still have two stripes that appeared on the floor right where the shadow of the rail is that are blowing our minds.
We had Easter at the cousins' where I totally blanked that we were also celebrating Logan's birthday (even though we do this every year). Now I am buying him a bunny to boost my aunt status from the fallout. The fallout was him not saying a word because he is such a stellar nephew.
Rory had a little end of the year performance and art show. He had to dress like a weed. I was pretty gutted that I had an extended day field study on the same night with one of my classes. I did get a live reenactment and watched the full video.
Silas had his spring orchestra concert. The crowd around us was a bit of a trip, including a drunk man that asked both Daron and I to borrow our prescription glasses. There was also a song that included on purpose screaming that I enjoyed. Silas won an award for best stand partner in his class. His group has grown so much! Maybe he will be a music kid! He says he is sticking with it for next year.
