Silas got to meet his teacher at spirit night. We love her. We are excited to go back to school in person next week!

Soccer wrapped up, which I love. One month to say we did it and a free calendar! I think I jumped the gun on signing Rory up, but his team was cute and Coach Christy made sure everyone had fun. Silas made me so proud hustling all season and making new friends. 

 

We spent a week in Texas while we could and enjoyed meeting our new family playmate! Silas has been into prehistoric stuff so we headed out to see the footprint fossils at Dinosaur Valley State Park. We may have gotten turned away at the gate due to capacity, but we got to see the molds at the entrance!

  

We ate picnic style at Hannah's restaurant and saw the homecoming game. Malachi is clearly the best looking sousaphone player in the band, as you can see in the picture.

Excited for fall, we visited a little farm with Meemaw and carved pumpkins with the cousins. I made them do the feel-gross-stuff-and-guess-what-it-is activity from my childhood.

 

We hiked Jones Gap and made it farther up the trail than I ever have on my field studies. Still one of my favorite places on the planet.

 

 

Our trick-or-treating pals opted out (along with our entire neighborhood) but they delivered some treats with an awesome leaf blower candy cannon.  We went to our church's first trunk-or-treat, which I appreciate, but let's be honest, those are the worst. We crashed the cousins' neighborhood for actual trick-or-treating and had a blast. Not to dog on old Dove Park, but they are going to need to step up their game next year.
