Fancy Grilled Cheese

Happy National Grilled Cheese Day!  Of course Jess was glad to here of this holiday and was a happy participant.  She has been drooling over this for several weeks and finally her complimentary hints paid off and she got an invite to the home of that very chef to partake.  From her subsequent ranting I think it lived up to expectations.  I got the real story from my insider gal pal, Gilly, who said she was embarrassingly licking her plate. (A habit suitable for felines, but unbecoming of humankind.)


Here are the leftovers Jess smuggled out in her purse.  I will agree they were quite tasty from what I could tell by licking off the foil.

The View from my Window

Daron and Jess hit the lawn this weekend to whip it into shape for...the sake of not being a neighborhood embarrassment I guess.  The state of the yard is one of the main reasons I don't go outside and connect myself to the territory my humble hovel sits on.  It is hard to get the full effect of their labor without before photos, but those were too much of a disgrace to post.  Thanks to the folks for their help!

What a great time catching up with college buddies! The year of festivities flew by.  Thanks Jon and Joy for hosting and all the holiday planning!  Thanks Kristen for not killing me for booking the wrong travel day!  Here are some bullet point highlights.

• New Years Ribbon Dancing Reprise.
• Must have been a leap year...got another day when my flight was canceled.
• Hot dog forth of July Cookout.
• Fun Tex Mex lunch with the ladies.
• New trash pants.
• Bracelet weaving lessons.
• Meeting two very adorable boys.
• Bunking with Kitchen (Kristen according to Seth).
• Monopoly Deal.
• Bought fuzzy socks during my airport layover because my feet were freezing. I had my sandals in my bag, and without thinking let it be rolled away for undercarriage storage while at the gate.  It was a slightly embarrassing but much cozier second leg flight.
