Now that kids can switch classes, Silas gets to go to my friend Rebecca's class once a week. She sent me this shot. Not sure if it was to point out his infractions, or just giving me a glimpse into his day. I both enjoyed seeing it and fussed at him.
We have a red-tailed hawk nesting in our back yard!
Silas's buddy has been in the hospital for what seems like forever receiving a bone marrow transplant and treatment for leukemia and lymphoma. They thought it had returned post transplant and sent him home without any real next steps. I feel like I literally witnessed a miracle, because the next day they got a call that Johns Hopkins was stumped by the results and what they thought was cancer was not. He was brought back in to finish his 100 days of post treatment and later tests have revealed no evidence of disease. What a turn from grief and despair to hope and joy. Not that it is the job of a seven year-old struggling through the unimaginable to boost my faith, but he surely has. God is good.
In unrelated news, here is one of Silas's answers on a test this month.
