Making Faces
Silas on film! Probably don't watch this video unless you are 1.) extremely bored or 2.) are someone who would fall for a video of this baby face doing nothing too exciting for approximately 2 minutes. Grannies?

The Freida Pinto of Babies
Our buddy Laura at Gallery by Laura Photography came to the house and took these beauties. Silas at one week old!
Silas!
Our son is here! Daron took a library survey that asked if he had children and he got to check the "yes" box. It was a thrill. :) It is fun being parents! So far he has been the best baby. He doesn't fuss that much and sleeps a lot, so although I am sure they will come I don't have any horror stories to relay yet.
Here is the short version of him coming into the world, for posterity's sake and for anyone I haven't been able to talk to...
We went to the hospital on Thursday night to be prepped to be induced on Friday morning. According to the monitors at the hospital I was already having contractions and I started to feel them more and more as the night went on. By morning I was ready for the epidural (big fan!). By 12:20 PM on August 2nd, Silas was here. (9 lbs 15 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long) My folks and sister and brothers were there to meet him and Daron's dad too. They ended up having to take him to the NICU because he was having trouble controlling his blood sugar. He had to stay there for our entire hospital stay but by the time we were shipped out on Sunday he was able to make the trip with us.
Our experience was definitely different than what I was expecting. We really couldn't have too many visitors at the hospital and we were making trips to the ICU at all hours to visit our little guy. Since we have been home everyone has been healthy and happy and we have gotten to show Silas off to lots of family and friends.
Thanks to everyone who came to visit, called and sent cards. We failed at getting pictures of some of our guests, but here is Silas's parade of fans.
I'm having babies more often. I love company.
